This is all very tentative but I may be in London in early July for a literary conference and would like to go birding one or two days if I do go. I am a very low intermediate (or maybe an advanced beginner) having been birding for some four years mainly in Central Park in New York sometimes alone but usually with a group led by a volunteer who charges a small fee per birder. Age early 70s. Is there something similar in London or the London area? Is there some local organization on the internet I might inquire about this? I have googled "Birding in London" and gotten some information but the only birding tour I find is something like 120 pounds a day, a little too much for me. Any other suggestions? Is the the best place in the Forum for this inquiry? Yes I guess July is quite late for migrants. In New York it's very quiet then.

I think London Wetlands Centre and the Parks are your best bets. Plenty of guys on here that will know about these.
