note 1: after 14 years of encoding by Peter Meininger, the leader of this project, Camille takes over.
note 2: white ring on the left leg (ringed as pulli),white ring on the right leg (ringed as adult).
note 3: for information in English or in French on Med.Gull in The Netherlands and Belgium and the results of the breeding-season 2000.
note 4: in total 4 white rings (number/letter/number ; letter/letter/number ; letter/letter/letter) are used in Denmark and can be reported to the Dutch project or to ktpedersen@snm.ku.dk
note 5: all sightings sent to Peter Meininger will be rewarded with a life history on a paper printout. On the other hand, fully updated life histories of all birds ever sighted by one observer can be obtained (only via e-mail) through Renaud.Flamant@skynet.be on simple request (by means of a compressed (ZIP) rich text format rtf-file).
note 6 : from 2005 onwards, white rings with a 4 alphanumeric code are used in Belgium and The Netherlands. The code is a “3-letter-number-number” (e.g. 3A56). Some 400 in Belgium and 100 c-rings in The Netherlands have been used during 2005.
note 7 : during the summer 2006 in Denmark 20 birds have been ringed by Lars Hansen with a white ring coded cipher/letter/cipher/cipher. "
