Hi,

Several years ago I bought a Nikon Coolpix 990 to try my hand at digiscoping. I also have a couple of adapters for different scopes and a few other digiscoping accessories too. It turned out that I wasn't very good at digiscoping - although i did have a few excellent successes on the whole by the time I'd focused the bird had gone!!

I recently gave up and bought a camera with lots of optical zoom and i get on better with that.

I remember that when i bought the Nikon (from a forum member I think) it was like gold dust. But is there still a reasonable market out there for them? Do digiscopers still crave them or have much better things arrived? What sort of price could i ask..... and are any of you interested?

Have a look on Ebay see what the current market value is, don't think you'll get too much for it as most people have moved onto to greater things, but a few people out there still snap them up for when their current one breaks.

I picked up a Coolpix 4500 today for a bargainous (well, I think so!) £59. So I suppose a 990 might be around the same?
