Dear all,
I wonder if you can help me?
I've got a few days off work at the end of the month, and was wondering if anyone can recommend an good sites for bird photography? I'm looking ideally for somewhere productive, as my time to recce the site will be limited. I'm prepared to travel as far north as Newtown for a good location.
Any suggestions much appreciated!

Try Ogmore-by-Sea.
On the high tide Purple Sandpipers can be quite obliging when found. Also Chough, Oystercatcher and Turnstone. On the estuary waders and wildfowl such as Gooosander and Goldeneye are present but less easy to photograph.

Kenfig Pool is always worth a look. You may get lucky and get a Bittern in front of one of the hides.

Hi Pete,
If you can spend one morning after one species-
Last October I took the family for a walk along the river at Ystradfellte to see the waterfalls.
As that stretch is heavily used by walkers there were a number of reasonalbly tame dippers along it. Also saw the usual woodland suspects including a LSW. Suffice to say I was not prepared having only a 85mm zoom to take pictures of the waterfalls.
The caveat would be the state of the river after all the rain we've had recently but may be worth a look.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Dippers certainly need a boost in my collection, so that may be worth a shot. Might also be boring and go to Slimbridge for some waterfowl flight shots with my new camera!!!! :)
