Hi All

Another pix attached for the ringing session in the Olive Grove.,on 20th August.

This time we have an adult Willow Warbler on its way back to Africa.

Note the Pale orangey-brown legs.Iberian Chiffchaffs can look very similar to this at this time of year and they are still here at this time.

But of course they have dark brown tarsi and different biometrics.

An unusual 'bird in the hand' photo, did the photographer have bird in one hand and camera in the other?

Have you had any recoveries from the birds you've caught in Spain?

Hi dave

Hard to get some of the migrants to settle in the hand,I am using a time delay button on the camera, getting the bird to settle and then taking 1 hand away, trying not to get too much human flesh in the shot!!

I have controlled some interesting birds at some of my sites,Belgium Chiffchaff wintering, migrant Italian reed warbler,German Common Sandpiper and several others.

One of my Blackbirds that I ringed 1 winter was controlled the next spring in Zaragossa, excellent record which shows that birds from the N.winter down here, song Thrushes and redwing do too.
