Hi
I'm off to Tanzania in June and am starting to get my gear together. Decided on taking a pile of CF Cards & batts. as power access will be v. limited (laptops etc.).
Anyone know of better deals than Warehouse Express for Extreme III CF cards?
Thanks

I just ordered a 1gbExtreme III CF card from Picstop for £17.90. The 2gb are £38.90 and 4GB is £74.90. This is a bit cheaper than WE.

Can't fault Picstop http://www.picstop.co.uk/ - they are always honest about what is and isn't in stock, delivery is very quick, and prices are good.

I'll second mymemory.co.uk,
Not sure about CF prices, but they had a killer deal on extreme III SD Cards before Christmas!
Used them about 6 times through last year, no problems, prompt delivery

I have recenty bought a converter SD card to CFcard. I can now use sd cards in my Canon 30d. sd cards are less than 1/2 the price of the same size cf cards. One other benefit is being able to veiw the pics on a pocket pc screen.

But high-capacity SD cards are not yet available.

Hiya,
7 day shop had some 4GB Dane - Elec cards at about £17. I got one and seems OK, not the fastest write speeds but OK for me and 20D.
Hope this helps.

A friend bought me a SanDisk Extreme III card from a dealer on Ebay and after reading this article (http://martybugs.net/articles/fakesandisk.cgi), I’m convinced it’s fake. Just take care.

I bought 2 x 1Gb Sandisk III's from a UK dealer on ebay and they were fake the seller happily refunded me the money but I know he knew these were fakes (after speaking to him) eBay fakes are well documented on eBay. I would not recommend eBay for memory unless its from a photographic retailer through the auction site.
Apparently 95% of all cards on eBay are fake!!

Amazon now seem to be doing 2Gb Extreme III CF cards for just under £22.00. OK they're from a third party, but surely worth a punt - I've gone for it. Will let the board know if it goes Pete Tong!

Honestly can't understand this penny-pinching attitude when you can get guaranteed (non-fake) Sandisk cards from Picstop at such low prices (see Graham's post). Buy third-party items at your peril.

I suppose I deserved it, because it was from Ebay. I did however get my money back from the cowboy that sold it.

Warehouse Express are doing Sandisk Extreme IV 4GB cards for £65.99 Excluding P+P
They have a price match on products at the moment, promising to undercut any genuine price with free delivery, also says " We will reduce our price by 125% of the difference" Offer is on the home page.
Amazon.co.uk are doing the same item for £59.93, so I have just been in touch with Warehouse Express and I'm awaiting a call from them, hopefully they will keep their promise

Park Cameras currently have Sandisk Extreme IV 8GB at GBP 299; at Picstop the same card is GBP 109.90. Are we being taken for a ride, or what?

anyone had any experience of www.mymemory.co.uk of late--they are doing Sandisk CF and SD cards for about half the price of other suppliers so I just wondered if they are certainly genuine cards?----Picstop have good prices but seem to be almost constantly out of stock of late and 7dayshop are way behind in the recent price war.

I have used mymmory quite a lot recently, I bought a couple of sandisk EX III 1Gb CF cards @ 4 months ago and these were genuine but more recently I have bought a mymemory branded 4Gb card for 17.99 ad at the moment I'm very pleased, write speed about the same as an EX III read is a tad slower (but when your reading the card you normally in front of your pc in the warm)
I like mymemory cos you can call then to discuss your purchase
Also bought some USB memory sticks for the children for school again sandisk and agin no problem
