Info on book required

I've just bought a book from a second hand book shop called, Wildlife Sound Recording by John B. Fisher published in 1977, I've just started reading it, is there a modern day equivalent anybody would recommend?

I went and looked at his preferred Sound Devices and with prices in the $2-$3k range I won't be doing that for a recorder.
