first day out

Can anybody suggest where i could go this weekend for my first really day out solely birdwatching. I live in ashton-under-lyne near Manchester. Any locations in the north west would be great. Thanks

carsington water near ashbourne is very good mybe about 45miles from you but lots of birds and 4 hides also marton mere near southport is very good if you dont want to travel as far try a local res .they atracked a lot of diffrent birds :t:

thanks, peter. until i got onto this forum ididn't think anybody went to audenshaw reservoirs so i will try there on saturday and then take your suggestions on board for the next day. thanks again bowie2030
