Going to Mull for the first time in May - any help on the best birding places would be a real help. Love to see any birds but those specific to the area would be a bonus.

If you fancy an escorted trip round the island try a chap called Dave Woodhouse - I think that 's his name. He has been guiding groups round for 20 odd years and knows a;ll the best sites for WTEagle, GEagle, Otter ,Divers, SEOwl ,Hen Harrier ,charges £35 for the day and throws in a lunch too and transport. However if you fancy doing your own thing then loads of info on the web and the one Henry mentioned is great
Regards Jack.

You'll find Mull holiday reports (including mine) on the Vacation thread which should give good advice on birds and areas.

I'm going to Mull too - in late April. Already booked the wildlife tour and also a trip to Iona in the hope of seeing whales and dolphins. Enjoyed reading your report Sandra and thanks for the link Henry.

There is a really good, new parking area on the road to Grasspoint, just before you reach Grasspoint its self. From here you have a good view of lochdon and the surrounding hills. Don't just look in the air for White-tailed Eagles, they spend a lot of time on the shore.

Thanks Gary and all for the info. I'll certainly check places out and put a posting up in vacational trips when I get back .
