Hi Al

Yes the Samsung i6 will work fine for digiscoping. As a general rule any compact camera with a 3x optical zoom will be fine for digiscoping.

It is very strange that so few people use the Samsung cameras. My friend is using samsung nv10 and he has excellent results with this camera. Possible the best choise now it will be the new Samsung camera Samsung S1030. The problem of previous Samsusng cameras is noise, whisch could be managed with Neat Image well. But you can put also the camera in freezer do get low temperatures of processor and because of this also very low noise. :) :king:

Hi I'm using samsung nv10 - which has been quite good apart from the noise, although my previous camera is my only other comparision which was very bad.

I'm trying to work out if other cameras are producing better images the the samsung nv10? - see my thread on digital noise.
