Hi all

Some years ago I purchased a 2x teleconvertor lens for a camcorder, well the other day I held it up to my cp4500 to see what sort of image i`d get. This got me thinking & I ordered a 28/27mm step down ring when it arrived the thread on the ring was to shallow to couple it to the thread on the converter so I glued it on.The only adjustments done were to remove some slight ca & then sharpen.I would be interested in any comments.

Stevo,

Looks like a bad hair day! (seriously how big is the statue and how far away were you)

Hi Geoff

Firstly I have hardly any hair, secondly the statue`s about 1.5metres tall & I was 5-6ft away when I took the photo.

Regards Steve.

I have tried quite a few converter combinations and I'd say it's always worth giving them a go, but don't expect too much.

You managed decent results here, but it's better to wait until you can compare on say a shot of a bird which has fine feather detail. I find that is a better test as there is more detail to try to resolve.

So far so good though, this lens looks promising.

Depends what your needs are from your shots.... certainly for web use there's not much to worry about from the looks of it. You just have to realise that video is a very low resolution medium compared to still photography.... so great optical quality isn't a top priority with add-on lenses for the typical domestic camcorder.
