Anyone tested this combo? £200 of camera £1000 of scope and another possible £300-400 on tripods, accessories & adapters. Surely this amount of cash should be enough to yield adequate results from a kit endorsed as a 'Nikon Digiscoping System'.
There are 17 Coolpix cameras suitable for this purpose, 3 types of ED scopes (with a variety of eyepieces) & 5 exclusive attachment brackets.
This is quite a comprehensive array of options Nikon have to offer any prospective buyer? Is it worth the money? Any body out there bought into this system and getting worthwhile results?....

i'm about to start testing that combo out this weekend, can't wait : )
ps. i was using a P4 / 60mm Fieldscope III ED combo and got pretty decent shots with it so can only imagine the results will be better with the ED82.

This combination scope/DS eyepiece/P camera and nikon bracket work perfectly together. I use the P1 for some time with the 82ED, my impression are that the image are very good but on the soft side. You can watch in my gallery (older section, recent picture are from DSLR) for images taken with the P1, CP4500 and CP990 for comparaison. The picture of my avatar are taken with the P1
