I am looking at trying out the Fuji F30. I have found online a F30 Refurbished Camera for $208 (US) or new for $268. Is buying a refurbished camera a bad idea?

Hello nouse (?)
Though I have not bought a refurbished camera and in the absence of any posts from someone who has, I can only offer this:-
In my experience "Refurbished" can mean many different things. Sometimes its items that have been sold returned as faulty and repaired. Or it can refer to items which were incorrectly supplied or sent on approval and returned undamaged. These should not then be offered as new products and are often passed on to resellers.
I think one of the most important factors would be the quality of guarantee offered.
Hope you find a bargain.
I notice that on the uk Fuji site:-
http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/shop/refurb/shop.php
The price is £123.24 butwith 6 month fuji warranty. Thats only £6 less than new price from Amazon. If it had been £90 or less I would have considered it. I supose its a result of the difference between manufacturers prices and discounted online prices.
