I had been hoping to use my Olympus 3020Z as introduction to digiscoping but although it is easy to mount on my scope it suffers from bad vignetting. I have been looking for suitable cheapish digital cameras but keep going round and round in circles.
The current most popular models seem to be the Fuji F30 or Sony W70 but neither of them seems quite right for my requirements.
I would like a camera which could be mounted by a filter screw thread. That rules out the Fuji and although the Sony has a lens adapter available the camera lacks some of the low light capabilities of the F30. It is also a bit more expensive.
The Coolpix 4500 is another candidate but is getting a bit old now and is, apparently, rather slow in operation. I have looked at the reviews of the new Coolpix 5000 on DP Review but they seem pretty mixed and once again the camera is a bit expensive at the moment.
Has anyone got any other suggestions for suitable screw mountable cameras?
