Just wanted to show the type of quality that can be got with an older Fuji F10 compact and a small scope - and of course a bird!

Settings and details are written on the photo:

Oopsi the manager tells me the photo is a teeny bit too large to upload, so appologies to all as I do not want to resize it again - please click on the link below to view Chaffinch.

I'm not a digiscoper, but have seen many wonderful pictures taken with them. This is another example. Great shot! The colors are rich, bird is well focused, especially through a window.

Thanks to one and all for comments. The trouble is, now I'll be wanting every photo I take to be very detailed - and sadly, I know it just won't be that way :o(

But it doesn't hurt to try :o)

Hi Nikovich - yes thats the beauty of the Fuji F10/F11 digicams. They produce such a good image at ISO400 that the shutter speed is usually this high - which in turn lets me operate the camera with my fingers instead of a cable release.

How far away was the bird?

Yes definitely a great picture , but I have to agree with can popper's question. How far away was it. If the picture was taken through a window in a garden then its obviously very close. I think thats the problem with digiscoping especially when your new to it. You expect every picture to be like this. The reality is , that the picture of the Snipe youv'e just taken at just over 50yds away is going to be a big disappiontment. Was when I started.
