A full description of the site can be found from the Northamptonshire wildlife trust (http://www.wildlifetrust.org.uk/bcnp/nres/northants.htm#titchmarsh). I visited this site in the sweltering heat of mid-july and on that day saw: Green woodpecker, Kestral, House martins, Carrion Crow, Common Tern, Canadian and Greylag geese, Mute Swan, Grey Heron, Ringed Plover, Linnet, Grey and Pied wagtails, and Great Crested Grebe.
There is a heronry on the site with up to 50 pairs, though we didn't make it round to that part of the site due to the heat.
Quite a number of dragonfly and damselfly species (banded damoiselle and azure). Also a number of common blue butterflies.
