Its Me again

Well this next pix may look a bit boring compared to the rest but Blackbirds are not in the least boring on the Iberain Peninsular.,

In Fact this is a female,yes female,so dont get fooled by the color,our female Blackies are sometimes very grey as this one is and I get so many retraps that have apparently changed sex from 1 year to the next depending on what visiting ringer has handled it!!!!

This bird was just completing its full moult ,the outer 3 primaries still had feather sheath present.

In fact juvenile Blackies down here undergo extensive moult in the Autumn,often all Tertials and even and innermost Sec.,all greater coverts.carpal covert and alula tract!!!

It also still had a full brood patch!!!

Oh dear, as one of those visiting ringers I sincerely hope it wasn't one I got wrong tchagra :)

I was amazed at how different the Gib Blacki's are!

Hi Annie

Dont be concerned Annie,you will not be the first or the last ,even if you did get 1 wrong,it soon gets sorted out when I see the sex changes in the retraps or I get to see a few of the birds from time to time
