Canon have upgraded the 400d's firmware to 1.0.5.

The link to the upgrade page is here (http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/eosdigital3/e4kr3_firmware-e.html)

It does not alter the underexposure issues that seem to affect some 400ds though. Suppose thats not surprising as the amount of underexposure appears to vary from body to body. (Or thats my take on the amount of abuse that flies around on dpreview when anyone suggests that their's underexposes :eek!:)

You can only download the update if your CF card is 2GB or under. Mine is 4GB........

Having said that it only seems to cover direct printing (from camera to printer) and 3rd party flashes, neither of which are particularly relevant to me.

Stu,

I'm pretty sure that you can use a 4gb card in the 400D, in which case - despite what the Canon site suggests - you can do the firmware upgrade: you put the firmware onto the card, so as long as the camera can read the card it should be able to access the firmware.
