Hi chaps and chapesses
Well ,you guessed it,some time I had to trap a Red Necked Nightjar, note the rufous neck collar, this one is a juvenile, undergoing heavy body moult.
I am ringing at the rio guadalmansa site again, caught the bird in the net over the water, nice surprise as you can see it is quite light, but I have generally found that this is the best time to catch them.
Had gone down the early evening before to set the nets and catch a few birds while I was putting them up.
Retrapped a Reed Warbler that I had ringed on the 5th.also a juv male cettis warbler, adult female Blackcap and a juv.female Kingfisher, the latter ringed on 10th August.
Just a couple of new birds 1st winter male Common Redstart and my second Crested Tit for the site,a moulting adult.
Sorry no pix for that but too dark and needed to release quickly.but maybe another time.
