I think you will find The Saratogas far better although they use BK7 prisms.
The Belmonts I bought from Ebay last week are rubbish in comparison.

This is a month late, but you may still be interested. The 1987 Dutch catalog by "technolyt, bv" presents the Belmont as a Green Label Series, which includes an 7.5x42, 8x40, 7x50, 10x50 and 12x50. As far as I know, this is the only time a model name was also used as series name (but I could be mistaken). There are Gold, Red, Green, Orange, and Blue series in this catalog — more or less arranged in spectral order. So Green sits in the middle or the muddle. I don't know if Pyser-Swift in England had a different set of Belmonts, but the name associates with horse racing.

I'd appreciate knowing the serial number and any Japanese manufacturer's marks on the front hinge of your specimen.

Blue skies,
Ed
