Its a comorant found near kunnukary in Alleppy district,Kerala.
she enjoys the company of man.Every afternoon she reaches a house where she is treated with fish or other food.They call her with love 'karumby'(Black Beauty)The matter has been reported in many leading newspapers.Is this something unusual?

I don't know how unusual it is, but it is certainly interesting. Thanks for posting it. I guess as with many wild creatures; food = friends.

In northern Japan, fishers have used comorants for centuries to catch their meals. They put a ring on the bird's neck so it can't swallow big fish, and, when it returns to the boat with a prize, reward it with a small fish or slice of fish that it can swallow.

Beats using a hook and line for sure!
