A footpath is closed in Lancashire after a pair of nesting eagle owls repeatedly attack dog walkers.

well it's good to see some BoP at least will vigorously defend their breeding sites against disturbance! Perhaps the path should have been closed in the first place during nesting season. (Thank goodness they didn't fly away with any toddlers ;) )

Perhaps the path should have been closed in the first place during nesting season.
I think that the pressence of these birds was being kept quiet. Closing the path earlier might have attracted more attention. I am not sure what authority or justification is required to close a public footpath anyway.
Would the current status (whatever that is) af eagle owls in the uk be suficiant to warrant a footpath to be closed for their protection? Or was it closed in the interests of public (canine) protection?

the birds probably would have to wash the chavs to make them hygienic to eat !
