Advice please.
I have a Canon EOS350D and I use 99% a Canon 90-300mm Kit Lens.
I am considering buying a Canon EF 2 x II Extender. Will this be compatible with my set up on auto focus or will it only be useful on manual. If this is so would it be just as beneficial to buy a Jessops 2X Conveter.
Thank you for any help afforded.
Regards. Pat Elsender.

I'm afraid the Canon teleconverters won't even fit on that lens. Any 2x converter will drop your maximum aperture to f11 at 300mm. That means that autofocus won't work.

There is a trick whereby one can 'hide' the TC from the camera by taping pins. But you're still going to be stuck with f11 - which means the autofocus will only work in very, very bright conditions. Even a 1.4x TC will disable AF and make the image pretty dark.

Frank is right, I'm afraid. There is nothing you can do to get more reach out of your lens. You need to resign yourself to saving up for a longer lens. Someimes in life there is no easy shortcut. This is one of those times.

Thanks top both you and Frank, saved me a few pounds. That is one of the advantages of this website.
Must save for a Lens to do the job.
Thanks again.
