Once again the charity shop provided a lovely set of 8 x 30 bins made by Alpha. The makers name on the left sied as you look through them is "Alpha" across an inverted triangle, with "COATED OPTICS" under the triangle.

On the right side is "8 X 30", below that in red print is "Field 75o", and the serial number No.800187.

On the base of the bridge (?) is "LE7" and "LB130" or something very similar. On the bas of the central nut is Japan. Apoologies id I used the incorrect terminology.

Does anyone know anything about these and where they were made or who by please?

The view thru is stunning, clear and sharp for small bins.

cheers in anticipation

Would some moderator please delete this?

I am sure that if anyone could have enlightened me they would have done so by now.

Deletion will save cluttering this board.

many thanx

I bought a pair of Kyonon (http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=69794&highlight=kyonon)bins on eBay last year which seem not too dissimilar to yours, and the best information I could get was that the Japanese made any number of Carl Zeiss Jena clones and that mine was probably one of them. Yours is probably one of them too.

Michael.
