I've got a pair of these on order and just wondered if objective lens covers are available for these?

My 10x42 minox came with objective covers.

I do not know of covers being available as of yet for the HG series. I own the 8.5x so finding some would be great.

My 8x33 HGs didn't, however I spend my life hunting dropped covers until they go permanently AWOL after which I stop worrying. The lenses are nicely recessed and are unlikely to suffer. My oldest bins go back over 20 years and none have suffered from lens damage, perhaps I'm lucky?
N.B. they were accidentally left out in the rain recently and the waterproofing worked perfectly!

Hi. I have the Minox 10x42 bl. The lens covers just drop off as soon as you put them on. They are totally useless so I won't be using them. Why they can't design them to stay on is beyond me. Very frustrating.

I've posted warning on this one before. My BL BR 8x42's has one cap with reasonable fit and one with a really poor fit.
Its the only negative thing I have to say about these bins but protecting your glass is so important you wonder how they passed 'quality control' at the manufacturers.
Mr Magoo must have been on shift as mine went passed on the conveyor, shame on him !!!

Shilo,

When I owned my BR10x42BRs, I bought some tethered objective covers from a local sportsman's warehouse. They were designed to fit on a Kahles binocular iirc. I think they were about $5/each and they are still in use today. I am sure someone can find something like that at a decent optics shop.

Good luck. How do you like your binos? Which one do you have?
