Orange-crowned Warbler? It looks a little too bright yellow underneath, but it has an eye-line and OCWA is my default answer for a nondescript yellow-green warbler in California.

The bill looks too long, but might it be a female American Goldfinch??? Great photo quiz.

I believe it's a tanager, Western?

Hmm... the head pattern suggests Bullock's Oriole. Female or juvenile perhaps. White wing bars, white tertial edges and a gray mantle. Again, I'm not sure the bill length is correct but could be the angle. I think Western Tanager would show a thicker bill. Bullock's Oriole would be my next incorrect guess.

It's definitely an Oriole, I'm going to guess Hooded Oriole.

Thanks Pe'rigrin, but I'm still a student amongst masters.
Here's a picture of a female Hooded Oriole from Cornell University. I still think your bird is a Pine Warbler because of the wing pattern and eye strip.
