Hi folks,

Have a go at this one, I think that this is hard, but you'll get it in the first go just to prove me wrong.

This is the first frame (and only) of a sequence of an attack on duck by two birds of prey.

A Merlin and Marsh Harrier.

The Merlin started it, the Harrier finished the job on a Teal, you have to guess which Teal it took.......No only kidding!

I think that I got both birds in this frame only, the Merlin powered right through the melee, so I did concentrate on the Harrier afterwards.

Ayasadu, it was taken about 2 years ago on a dull winters day, I know it looks summery but that's down to photoshop magic. I have about 3000 raw images still to process, so you see I'm way behind with my files.

Sorry bit late today.

João, welcome back, but Dafi and John got it yesterday, I think they are in conclusion together.

I've shown the path taken by the Harrier and Merlin. I got just this one image of them both right at the start, it's not very good, but it was the quickest reaction I could do to the attack. The Harrier sequence is much better but the gap in the flock of ducks would give the Harrier location straight away.

Well done Dafi and John, I thought that this was a hard one.

That must've been pretty awesome to see a Merlin and a Harrier attacking that big flock! Yes let's see the whole picture!

Morning everyone,

I don't think this one shows a great deal, I'll try and dig out one with the Harrier in amongst the Duck, which is a more dramatic image.

This is 2/3rds of the frame size so there were more Duck on the right hand side. I don't think the Merlin was after the Duck; they just seemed to get in her way. The Harrier was definitely after the Duck, the chaos caused by the Merlin made it easy for the Harrier.

I just wished that it could have been a Hen Harrier, instead of Marsh.
