After 3 weeks of relentless rain we're thinking about another foreign birding trip but where ........?

Ideally we're looking for a hotel within easy walking distance of good birdwatching locations. If there's a chance of seeing other unusual wildlife in the area even better. The locations can be totally wild, reserves or even national parks as long as a bit of shelter is available from the occasional torrential downpour. If there's also a beach nearby or perhaps a swimming pool better still. If anybody has got any suggestions or ideally personal recommendations they'll be extremely welcome.

Many thanks

El Rocio in Coto Donana might fit the bill ... as well as some cracking birds in easy walking distance there's buses to other sites close by and tours with transport offered by reg'd users of these boards. The town looks like a spaghetti western set, there's accommodation for all pockets, a cheap bus several times a day from Seville, and there are cheap flights to Seville from Liverpool if not Manchester ...

Agree but needs a car to get there from Sevilla and ideally a car when you're there to reach the likes of El Achebuche and Jose Valverde.........

And I wouldnt regard it as a holiday destination as the nightlife is extremely low key - fine for some (ie: me) but not for everyone I wouldnt have thought?
