Walked along from Yarmouth to Burgh Castle & back again partly for GGBC & partly as I wanted to, on a nice warm Saturday. These are the best bits, the waders mostly being on the mud across the river.
Bearded Tit - flock of 5 or 6 in reed lined ditch along the way. And a flock of 11 in castle reedbed.
Snow Bunting x 1
Kingfisher - 2 sightings, same bird (??)
Little Egret x 1
Little Grebe x 3
Grey Heron x 3
Avocet ~ 70
Flocks into the hundreds of :
Blk-tail Godwit
Golden Plover
Curlew - many hundreds, also lots in the adjacent fields.
Lapwing
Several smaller flocks of :
Dunlin
Redshank
Ringed Plover
Oystercatcher
Goldfinch
Meadow Pipit
Shelduck, Wigeon ~ 100 of each in total
Marsh Harrier -x 1 female over The Island
Sparrowhawk x 1
Kestrel X 1
Total of 43 species, pretty good for me.

Hi Carlos
do you know where the American Golden Plover was seen today?
I think it was about a mile south of bridge - do you have to walk there from ASDA or is there a short cut?
I might try tomorrow after work....

No no idea where that one was ... but a mile south of the bridge ?? That'd put it roughly in Tesco car park
I guess the closest likely place to that would be along Weavers Way from Cobholm towards Burgh Castle, but the mud there only shows at low tide. And I've never seen a Golden that side of the river ( I guess it'd associate with them ??) , they're always been on the North.
Sorry can't be any more help !!

You can walk over the bridge, much quicker than walking round. There is a rough slope up the embankment just before you walk under the bridge

That makes Two of us Andrew, but then we must be grateful that we also get the odd few birds that don't go, oop north, that the northerners would also like to tick..... Sounds like you had a great day Carlos! Your eyesight must be well tuned now with the regular snow bunting, I must admit I'd love to see a bearded tit, even a Dartford warbler, but the Dartford I stand a better chance of than the bearded tit! Watcha Carlos
the American Golden Plover was viewable from under the raod bridge by ASDA this a.m. at 8.00. A very nice bird still with a lot of summer plumage making it very easy to pick out
well worth a look if it stays......
