Hi there
A quiz with a difference! Not a photo quiz (mostly because I never do very well at them). Go to the following page:
http://www.birdinginspain.com/images/raptor-silhouettes.png
click on the special feature "raptor silhouettes" and then start leafing through the guide to put a name to all the raptors you see. The first one to get them all right will win my warmest congratulations!
Best of luck

Have a crack
1 Honey buzzard
2 kestrel
3 red kite
4 osprey
5 montague's harrier
6 goshawk
7 common buzzard
8 hobby
9 rough legged buzzard
10 peregrine
11 black kite
12 short toed eagle
13 bonellis eagle
14 Marsh harrier
15 golden eagle
16 black vulture
17 hen harrier
18 red footed falcon
19 sparrow hawk
20 lesser kestrel
21 griffon vulture
22 lammergier
Phew. wish I hadn't started that. All from memory and some of birds I haven't ever seen, so not hoping for more than 25%. With guide book I am sure I would score a few more if I could discover number of primaries, tail length etc, but time is too precious. Off down the river to catch up with dragon and damselflies as the sun is actually shining presently.
regards,
Jono
Edit No it's not, its persisting down!! Anyway, go birding instead. No such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing

Not bad for a quick crack! 50% rather than 25% right. ie. 11 out of 22. Can't tell you which ones at the moment though. Anyone else?

Just for fun, since I am not remotely familiar with any Spanish raptor silhouettes....
1. Common Buzzard
2. Eurasian Kestrel
3. Black Kite
4. Osprey
5. Marsh Harrier
6. Sparrowhawk
7. Honey Buzzard
8. Hobby
9. Looks like a Red-tailed Hawk...
10. Peregrine?
11. Red kite
12. Rough-legged Buzzard? (I'm getting desparate).
13. Another Honey Buzzard.
14. Montagu's Harrier
15. Golden Eagle
16. Raven ;)
17. Who knows.
18. Another Kestrel
19. Another Sparrowhawk
20. Lesser Kestrel, with no head.
21. Andean Condor
22. Lammergerier (spelling?)
Laugh all you want, I want to see if I got any right.

Hmm, who can you hear laughing?
5 out of 22. Raven?! I didn't subtract any points for wrong answers, although in some cases perhaps I should!
To be fair, if I had to do the same for American BOPS I'd probably do no better.
Keep trying!
(Clue: 4 out of the 5 you got right are common to America and Europe).

You can if you want, but have you seriously considered the consequences? Are you sure that's the right number of the answer you want to change?

Judging by the general lack of response I would say that
i) either the quiz is too difficult and most of you are too chicken to have a go, or
ii) it's too boring/not challenging enough
I wonder which option comes closer to the truth?
Come on! Give it a go!
