Incomplete hood, W-shape on wings, black legs... I'm going to say young kittiwake and probably get it completely wrong...

looks like a med gull to me,i think you can just make out the white
primeries on the right wing.

My gut reaction was Bonaparte's so I guess my viscera was wrong.

Hi Derek & all.
Compare pattern of outer primaries with this BHG - thin dark outer web - broad inner and of course the bill size:

Those new inner primaries however, with broad white tips could not fit an adult looking BHG or BPG or a BL Kittiwake but doe´s on a Little Gull:

Check the pattern of the tip on the outermost primary - black outer web gets thinner just before the tip:
