We received our first free Total Digital Photography magazine recently, but were not particularly impressed. What do other people think, and does anyone have any alternatives to recommend?

Hi Elizabeth. I read my free copy of TDP and personally I dont think it as as good as Digital Photo on sale on the 23rd October at £4.99.If you use Photoshop or Photoshop elements it covers excellent tutorials, both in the magazine and in video form on the free cd. I have purchased this for the last 12 months and I think It may be worth taking a look at It. All the best John.

I agree that Digital Photo mag is the best. I have bought various copies of the other titles available (very costlywhen I was on FOUR a month) and the Digital Photo mag is the one I regularly buy and keep for that matter for reference. The video tutorials are excellent and I find myself watching them time and time again.
Definitely recommended.

Elizabeth,I subscribe to both Digital Photography Made Easy, and Digital Photo. The latter I have not renewed the sub for,but the former,"made Easy",I find is very user friendly, and I do pick up snippets of info.
Having said that,I find the best place for help is this forum!!!.That is because i am basically lazy and non technical.

Elizabeth,

I find they are all much of a muchness but do subscribe to Total Digital Photography. However since I have discovered it I also very much like Steve's Digicams, an Amercan site on the web. It's always bang up to date and has good reviews and forums as well. at least I think so

Thanks Walt - I have lots of stuff that comes inside magazines and papers, plus all the rubbishy things pushed through the letter box. It all goes to the recycling bin provided my the council - but disposing of this must waste precious resources.

Thanks for all the help - I've bought Digital Photo, and Digital Photography Made Easy, so we can now assess their merits. I've not really done much in the way of photography, so I reckon we have "his and hers" magazines here!

Talk about Janet and John!! Younger readers, ask your Mum, or even Grandmother to explain.
