Hi all,

Maybe this is not in the right place to post this!
I received the following from a newsgroup.

It still seems to be a rumour but looks promising for the hardcore Birders (twitchers) among us.

Good news if true! - won't that be the largest flock reported anywhere for about five years?

I get the feeling this may cause one of the biggest twitches ever if it proves true?

About 20 years ago, I saw a smallish looking Curlew on a marsh in Greece. For some reason, I didn't look closely at it, and ever since I've had this nagging suspision that it might just have been Slender-billed Curlew. Can't explain it and I'll never know for sure and chances are it probably wasn't, but it's just one of those sightings I occasionally get which inexplicably I ignore at the time and spend the next few years wondering how I could be so stupid. Guess that's why I never find any rarities (that and the fact I rarely leave a land locked industrial area in the heart of North West England!),

Hi Colin,

I hope you get over it and now digiscope the ???? even a bad pix can say a lot.

For all of you I just received this about the Slenders

Hello Mr. B.

Unfortunately, though there were today ten people seeking all through the wetland for the two slender-billed curlews since dawn to sunset, we didn' t find any of these.
There will be some more people searching for the next days. If relevant news you will be informed.
Thank you for your interest and kind regards,

C S

I leave out the full names because of lack of approval to quote them!
