The Isabelline Shrike that was at Burnham Norton in Norfolk on Monday 27th Oct 2003. Another rarity that managed to spend most of its time in a position that was into the light, therefore difficult to photograph. Having spent some time with the bird it did finally settle on a more suitable perch.

Hi Nigel,
Very nice!As with most Isabelline Shrikes recorded in NW Europe,especially in late autumn,it appears to be nominate isabellinus("Daurian Shrike"),though I find it hard to properly evaluate certain features on my monitor.

Great picture Nigel. Also I agree that on your other thread "Black Lark" this must have been the possible bird of the year!
