Hi,
My shutter button no longer operates in "focus lock mode". i.e. I can't half press it to lock focus. If I press the shutter button it fires immediately. I don't really want to send it to Nikon so does anybody know if there is an easy way to fix it or whether somewhere in the south can fix it.
Many thanks.

Hi Marek - NO!!!! On no account send it to Nikon! I sent mine there via Jessops - the camera wouldn't start. After 2 months of no news, I ended up nearly taking legal action - in the end Nikon sent it back to my local Jessops saying it was repaired, only it HADN'T been. I would NEVER use Nikon for this 'service' again. In the end, I badgered my insurance company to relent and let me buy a new one.
I would suggest that if it is out of warranty you try and find an independent repairer - they can only be better than Nikon.
By the way, is your father the bird ringer I ringed with in Norfolk?

I got it repaired by Bromley Camera Repairs in Kent. Good service and a turn around of less than a week. Cost £70 for labour and parts.

Yes. BTW, are you going to the BTO conference in Derbyshire next week as I'll be there?
