Hi Franz

It is the alchemic impossibility of pointing a digital camera down a telescope and getting a decent picture of a bird. You have to sell your soul to be good at it!

Hi Franz,

As James says Digiscoping really just amounts to taking photographs usually of birds through a spotting scope. The 'digi' bit referring to the use of a digital camera.

It can be quite an expensive business as IMHO you really do need an expensive scope for decent results and a decent digital camera, most popular being the Nikon C4500.

Then you need a stable tripod and an adapter to connect the camera to the scope and a decent sized memory card.

Once you get the bug, it's hard to stop yourself from adding extra bits and pieces.

I will add you need a big memory card because at first you have a lot of failures.
