Want to start digiscoping after selling slr kit.
Looking at the fuji f31fd but am getting so confused about the scope and lengthy list of accessories needed.

Can anyone suggest a mid to high range scope with the best accessories for the fuji.

want to observe birds not scope websites!

any help appreciated

What sort of budget do you have for a scope?

If you can afford an ED scope it is definitely worth getting one, it will make a real difference to your images. Personally I'd recommend going for a scope with a big objective, you can digiscope with smaller scopes, but the extra light gathering of a larger scope will be a real plus. The top scopes are all excellent quality, but you'll be paying well over £1k for one.

A good 'mid-price' option is the Opticron ES80ED with an HDF eyepeice (depending on eyepeice will be ~£550), for the money you'll not find a better scope. Personally I use a universal adapter (~£40) it's not the most stylish of items but it does the job very well. I'm guessing as you've had a DSLR you may already have a tripod, but if not make sure you get a good one, a cheap tripod is a false economy.

Postcardcv is right, the Opticron ES80ed is a great scope for this kind of thing, I also have an Opticron GS665 (non ed version) which is also very good for digiscoping. It has a very bright image, Brighter than the Opticron Hr66 (which I also have) and less Chromatic Abberation( colour fringing)
It makes for a good Budget option with an HDF eyepiece (say 18x or 25X)
Body price for the Gs665 is only £249 From Sherwoods #

If you want an intergrated solution have a look at Nikon

The new Nikon P5100 is a very good digiscoping camera (same as the older P5000 )
