I need to replace my old camera as it does not fit over the glass of the eyepiece and worried its going to scratch the glass.Ive always just hand held the camera to the eyepice before so has anyone come across this problem. Are there any cameras out there that would fit over the glass without it ever touching.I was also thinking of a camera with (IS) as ive had a few problems with blur.I wouldnt mind using a camera adaptor but as long as its easy to take on and off.I used one on my optricon scope before but gave up with it as by the time i put it over the eyepiece and tightened the 3 little screws up the bird was more often than not gone.Any help would be great.
thanks

Samsung NV3 is popular for hand-held digiscoping at the moment. It has an internal 3x zoom so no risk of scratching your eyepiece. Also has IS I think, so should be worth a look.
I think there is a separate thread on it somewhere on BF.

Hi birdbloke,
I find the swarovski adapter to work great with a wide range of cameras (not the big swing one, but the small one). I use the Nikon P5000 which has it's own adapter to link up with the swarovski adapter, but I also have the foxfoto adapter which works with most of the cameras out there.
If you're happy with your camera, I would suggest buying an adapter that works rather than buying a new camera (the adapters are generally much cheaper).
Hope it all works out for you.
Cheers,
Benji

The best solution would be to look at the Swarovski DCA adapter and the Nikon P5000 or new P5100. The DCA has only 1 screw that you have to tighten and it is very fast to get on and off. I've been using it for 7 years and it's very reliable. Neil.
