Can anyone recommend a cottage for a family 2+2 kids in October half term week please? I can find plenty priced at 500 pounds, but would rather spend 300 with someone independent. Near Lizard/penzance/land's end would be good.
Thanks

Try http://www.rospannel.com/index.htm. I have not stayed there myself but have heard good reports from several Birders. Roger

Have a look at the google ads on Cornwall Birding (http://www.cornwall-birding.co.uk)website pages. They often have cottages etc advertised.

Hi,

You might want to try this website.. has a good range of accomodation.

http://www.atlanticviewonline.co.uk

Not quite where you wanted to be however, but well worth it i would say as its just outside Newquay and not that far from some very good birding locations....

The Vineries at Polgigga (end of the Porthgwarra and Nanjizal roads) is worth considering.

it's nice of you all to offer idea, but this was a question that i asked in 2007 for that october, so I'm afraid you're a bit late for me! Thanks anyway.

Not at a price i could afford - but I've got several suggestions now to bear in mind for next time.;)

Another suggestion for your next visit to Cornwall is Gullrock, Port Gaverne, near Port Isaac, North Cornwall.

This is run by Malcolm Lee who is vey keen on butterflies & moths - there's some general info on the local flora and fauna on the website: www.gullrock-port-gaverne.co.uk

cheers

I have stayed in a static caravan park at Kelynack, at the top end of Cot Valley. They were very good and cheap. Also the are situated in a great valley which you can check before breakfast.
