Actually not too hard. Taken in the UK.

You miserable sod! I hate gulls.
I'm tempted to say Franklin's.......but it's probably a Med' - although the inner webs on the primaries don't seem to be as pale/obvious as I've seen (?).

But this is a relatively nice gull. Here is a clue, admittedly not a very helpful one. I was waiting in vain for a Ross' Gull to come in when I took it.

Whaddya mean not too hard???

I'll plump for laughing Gull.

If only 'cos the black looks to extend all the way across the tail, unlike Franklin's

You're right, not in the least bit helpful to me, but it looks like the gruesome twosome found it so.......;)

Further useless information. The photo was taken in late May.

Still think it's a first winter Laughing Gull, though a very worn bird accounting for the lack of a white band on the tail.

Larfin Gull - duskier flanks are a pointer, rather than Frankli's....

Yep... taken in Shetland in very late May. It was barely airworthy.

Barely photo-worthy if you ask me.......
