Help, I've got dust |})| mites.
How did they get in and how do I get them out?
I know they are in the camera because they stay in the same place in the frame as I turn the camera while handheld to the scope.
Thanks, paul

It can also be on the outside of the camera lens. These lenses are very small and very small specks of dust look big on the picture. Sometimes, dust is almost glued to the lens and a specialized product is needed to get rid of it. Be careful though, in order to avoid damaging the coating.

P&S cameras are usually dust tight. If there is no dust when you buy it, it should remain dust free.

I agree, to me it looks more like tiny fibres on the lens. Would zooming in and out and taking photos identify where the problem is? If it was on the sensor wouldn't it stay the same size, whereas if it was on the lens it would get enlarged? Or have I got that wrong?

Thanks for your ideas Jules and Ron.

I spent hours cleaning, cleaning and then cleaning again, both camera and scope. Took these photos and now I'm really confused. If the dust is in the camera then it should show up in a different quadrent when I rotate the camera 90 degrees. It does as shown in thumbnails 20x + 8mm iso 200 M and 20x 8mm iso 200 rt 90 M. However the third thumbnail shows no dust and this one was taken without the scope. Go figure :eek!:
So how come the scope enhances dust that MUST be in camera.

I used a loop to examine the camera lens and it is clean.

I tried taking pics with different iso's and zoom's: they all show dust.

Is there something wrong with the premise that "rotating the camera will show dust in different quadrent if the dust is in camera."

Thanks,Paul

Today I took a photo through my bins, and I've got dust in the same place so it isn't my scope.
