Hi all,

just wondering if there had been any waxwings reported yet or is it still too early for them? I remember a few years back coming out of my flat in Haslips close to see a huge flock of what I first thought were starlings in the trees, (it was a very dull and misty start), only to discover it was a flock of waxwings! A lifer for me! Would love to see some more..

Take care

Jo

Reported at Titchwell last weekend, though no great numbers yet!

If you look on birdguides.co.uk, they are always well covered there when they occure.

I was someone who was onsite when they were found at Titchwell Last weekend and they were stunning. I also managed some pics.

Had two flocks of 70+ and 30+ within half a mile of each other today on't way back to town from Tesoma (Google Earth it) but the word is "no berries" so they'll be continuing south...expect those pager messages to get interminably repetitive this winter

*sticks neck out* - is that Haslips Close behind Dereham Road? I have seen Waxwings in the Rowans behind the old Granville Saddlery on Heigham Street, and also on the streets behind the (now) old N&N.... but not this yet this year (and it would be difficult now as I am not in that 'fine city' any more).
