There's a stretch of Highway US60 between Sikeston and Poplar Bluff, Missouri that is absolutely astounding for viewing Raptors. The land is flat and is primarily used for growing cotton. Trees are few and far between. It's not unusual to see Birds of Prey perched on roadsigns, posts, and anything else they can find to put themselves above ground level. The concentration of birds is approximately 1 to every 1.5-2 miles of highway.
Since the road is 4-laned, with a pulloff lane, I'm thinking of assembling the scope/camera before we make our next trip over there and pulling to the side as we spot them to take a few pictures.
