My grandma has found a dormouse curled up asleep in one of her coal bags. Should she report it to anyone? I had a quick look on the Mammal Society website and it doesn't say, which makes me think she doesn't need to, but just wanted to see if anyone else had any info. She has left it alone and started on another bag. She lives in East Sussex, UK. I am very jealous, as I would have loved to have seen it!

I had a Dormouse keep getting trapped inside one of my seed feeders during 2003 and I believe it is now hibernating inside one of my nesting boxes. I reported the sighting to the Devon Wildlife Trust and they told me that they log all sightings of Dormice in Devon. I would suggest you advise your County's Wildlife Trust just in case.
