I see the season has started in Orkney: 9 past North Ron a couple of weeks ago and now half a dozen terrorising the Pentland Firth. Wish I had the funds for a trip this weekend....

Gripping! I've spent a couple of weeks watching the north coast of Ardnamurchan at this time of year in the past. Minke, Basking Shark and plenty of smaller cetaceans but never Orca.

I had three off the Point of Ardnamurchan last year, but that was August. An adult male, adult female and presumed offspring of the pair. See John's Mammals 2007 for full account.
