For what its worth my ringing total for Jan 04'
No nets used, only walk-in trap. Lack of birds this month in garden.

Black headed gull 1
Chaffich 1
Collared dove 2
Greenfinch 5
Starling 3
Wren 1
 
Always enjoy hearing your ringing reports, John.

It's a fascinating subject, and one I could really get interested in.

Would it be possible for you to post something to the forum about the practicalities of ringing, and the benefits gleaned from yours and other ringers' studies?

Suggest you go onto BTO Website and look at the Ringing Section for all details of the Ringing scheme, this will give you a comprehensive picture of what ringing is all about. They produce a quarterly publication "Ringing and Migration" which covers specific studies of ringing
objectives.
