Sao Paulo - February (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
I will be in Sao Paulo on a business trip latter half of February and would be interested in catching up on some local birds. Can anyone recommend a reliable guide or local birder who knows the area and may be able to help me out please?

Any information gratefully received.

Robin

Campinas

My trip now has me staying at Campinas rather than Sao Paulo - does anyone know of any local guides who know their birds and places to visit from here ?

Regards
Robin

There are one or two BF members from Campinas, notably Aracari. You might try a PM to Octavio who may be able to help with info about where to bird at the very least.

hope this helps, and enjoy your time in Brazil.

cheers,

Brad

Back from Brazil and despite spending almost all of my time working, I did get a full day's birding at Bacury with local guide from Campinas, Carlos Henrique.

The drive to Bacury was around two hours but the diversity of habitats at Bacury gave for an exellent day out with around 100 species seen.

Carlos has excellent bird-call skills which is a fundamental requirement in the forest with so many unfamilar birds.

check www.carduelis.bio.br for details should anyone wish to book Carlos for a similar trip in the future.

Many Thanks
Robin
