Wet and warm - 33 inches (850ml) of rain in January with temperature hovering around 30 degrees C.
Didn't deter our target birds!!
Sightings of Buff-breasted Paradise-Kingfisher, Little Kingfisher, Azure Kingfisher, Forest Kingfisher, Red-necked Crake, Pale-vented Bush-hen, Barking Owl and Rufous Owl in Daintree Village. On the Daintree River, Black Bittern and Great-billed Heron are nesting in full view of tour boats. Male Southern Cassowary with 2 chicks spotted regularly at Jindalba Boardwalk just north of Daintree River.
