Lac d'Orient in May (1 Viewer)

Hope to stay near here in May.
Is there a checklist of birds or a website listing recent sightings, please?
How good is the Observatoire des Oiseaux ?
It looks abit open compared to British hides.

I've had a look here already.

Hi

If you speak some French, try the LPO site for the Lac de Der and Les lacs Aubois.

This has all the viewpoints mapped, suggested walks and recent observations (not too recent normally).

The Natura sites are useful to get an idea of species present.
Also have a look at the Etang de la Horre. Click on 'especes presentes' for the latin and French.

The big hide at Le lac de Der can be a bit chaotic at times as there are many members of the public who aren't into birds milling around but at less sociable hours of the day you'll probably be alone.
The hides at Lac d'Orient and l’étang des Landres (opposite Le lac de Der) are much calmer but don't restrict yourselves to the hides as there are many other locations to watch from the dam and around the lakes.

There should plenty to see, good luck.
