Migration Dates (1 Viewer)

OK all, a bit of fun and a test of our prediction skills:

Choose 3 migrants you haven't already seen this year and then PREDICT the dates you will see them.

This must relate to birds seen on your LOCAL PATCH, not on special trips.

Let's see who gets the most accurate predictions. Honesty of course, is essential but birders are an honest bunch so we should have no problems there. Mystics are banned from entering!

Prizes will not be awarded, but you will receive a 'virtual' round of applause!

Regards,

OK here's mine:

Willow Warbler - 6th April
Whitethroat - 6th April
Blackcap - 6th April

Look at that! all on the same day! (& if I do see them they'll all be within 1/2hr walk of work!)

House martin-27th April.

Spotted Flycatcher-5th May.

Swallow May 25th.

Hi Darren,
Thought of a slightly underhanded way of being correct in this competition: deliberately not to visit one's local patch until June, and to select three migrants easily seen in the area!;)After all,you DID say on one's local patch ONLY,so prior records at other sites wouldn't count?

Ah, yes Harry, but if you delberately didn't visit your own patch, think of the self-recrimination if you missed the first Blackburnian Warbler for your patch or county!

Additionally, you wouldn't be a proper birder!

To bird is for life, not just at weekends!;)
